We awoke this morning and decided to head on to Seward a day early to escape the more than uncomfortable accommodations at Homer’s Lands End Resort. We ate breakfast at Duncan House CafĂ© in Homer, great meal and large servings. We watched the fisherman at the fishing hole again, hoping to get a sight of a large King Salmon. The campers are thinning out some on the beaches, very brave souls as it got down to 42 degrees and light rain. We drive the 165 miles to Seward and checked into the Military Resort. We all know why the Seward Highway is considered one of the most scenic drives in America, the views were the best yet. This is a MWR run facility for the Army and Air Force. The rooms are very nice, large and clean. Debbie and Janice worked on the laundry and we are again reloaded with clean clothes. We toured around Seward and got some ideas for in the morning and tomorrows activities. We ate dinner at the Crab Pot in downtown Seward, a tourist spot, very pricey and the food was not up to our expectations as far the King Crab was concerned. It was very dry, tough and no legs, just the claw knuckles. We plan to turn in early tonight and get an early start.
